The last record shop in the Bronx is nearing its final spin, and a rising DJ refuses to let it disappear quietly. Written by Dominique Morisseau and directed by Kamilah Forbes, Mix and Master follows a clash of generations shaped by hip-hop, jazz, and the fight to keep cultural memory alive. Live DJ sets are woven through the Broadway world premiere.

The central record shop is more than a business: it holds music, memories, and a neighborhood’s sense of itself. The play pairs a rising DJ with a shop owner, using live DJ sets and a hip-hop-and-jazz sound world to bring the argument over legacy into the room.
